Instructions
Apple Butter Filling: Peel and dice 2-3 apples (use two really big ones or adjust quantity based on size). Add the diced apples to a pan with 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes. Then add 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp cinnamon, and 1 tbsp of water. Allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes. Afterward, transfer the mixture to a food processor and blend until it becomes a chunky paste. Assembly: Roll out the pre-made puff pastry and cut it into 12 equal pieces. Place the apple butter filling on 6 of the pastry pieces and use the other 6 pieces to cover them. Seal the edges with a fork and then apply an egg wash over the top. Bake at 425°F (218°C) for 25-30 minutes. Brown Butter Glaze: Brown 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. Once browned, remove from heat and add 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Add the glaze to the cooked strudels. AND ENJOY!View original recipe
