Brown butter is my jam! It takes recipes to a whole new level, especially this chocolate chip skillet cookie. Baking this dessert brought back a flood of memories from my college days, making skillet cookies with my roomies.
In a saucepan, brown the butter on low-medium for 5-
10 minutes. Continually stir to avoid burning. Once
brown, immediately transfer to a separate bowl and
allow the butter to cool for 10 minutes.
1.
Beat the brown butter with brown sugar & granulated
sugar. Allow it to fully mix. This will be around 2
minutes.
2.
3. Then add egg, egg yolk, & vanilla extract. Beat again.
In a separate bowl, whisk together all purpose flour,
baking soda, & salt. Then mix into the wet mixture.
4.
5. Mix in semisweet chocolate chips.
6. Grease a 12 inch cast iron skillet.
Add your cookie dough into the skillet, Top with
additional chocolate chips.
7.
8. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before scooping
on ice cream and your favorite toppings
